Unlimited! CrowdGlow is a broadcast system that doesn’t require a direct connection to each individual phone. As long as the phones are in the signal area they will react in perfect sync.
Our system supports up to the largest venues and events in the world by using multiple transmitters to cover very large areas. -
Yes. Audience members take part using the CrowdGlow app, or through a custom event app with the CrowdGlow SDK integrated.
Using an app allows each phone to receive synchronised lighting cues and take part in the show with precision. It also allows full brightness control, led flash and vibrations.
-
No, battery usage is typically very low for the duration of a show experience. CrowdGlow is designed to create strong visual impact without placing a heavy load on the device. Typically only using 2% to 5% battery per show.
For most audience members, taking part in the light show uses only a small portion of battery life, similar to other short term event based app activity.
-
Yes! Events encourage audiences to hold their phones up and take part fully for specific songs or cues, while allowing filming at other times.
A future release will also include an option to enable automatic video recording during the light show so you don’t miss out by taking part. -
No. CrowdGlow does not rely on venue WiFi or mobile data during the live show itself.
Once the app is installed and ready, the synchronised experience is triggered locally in the venue using CrowdNet transmitters. This makes the system much more reliable for live event environments where network congestion is common.

CrowdGlow can still create a strong visual effect even if not every person in the venue takes part. The final result depends on audience engagement, seating density, and how the show is designed, but experiences still look impressive with partial participation.
For the strongest visual impact, events should actively encourage downloads in advance and promote participation clearly on site during the event.
-
Yes. CrowdGlow can be used through the standard CrowdGlow app, or integrated into a custom event app using our SDK.

Audience members are usually guided before and during the event through a mix of pre event messaging, on screen prompts, announcer cues, and in app instructions.
For example, fans may be encouraged to download the app in advance through ticket emails, social posts, venue screens, or QR codes on site. During the live moment itself, the show can prompt the audience when to raise and activate their phones, making participation feel simple and natural.
For the best results, we recommend clear promotion before the event and a strong visual cue in the venue when the CrowdGlow moment begins.
